La batalla de los 007
MGM/Columbia y EON, los productores de la saga James Bond, han anunciado oficialmente que con la recuperación de los derechos cinematográficos de Operación Trueno (Thunderball Opération Tonnerre, 1965) todos los derechos de propiedad intelectual relacionados con 007 son de su propiedad. Con esta noticia podrían volver a la gran pantalla el personaje de Blofeld y la organización SPECTRA.
El conflicto se originó con la propiedad intelectual de Operación Trueno que acabó en una sentencia que daba los derechos cinematográficos de la película, de SPECTRA y de Blofeld, a Kevin McClory. McClory intentó en diversas ocasiones realizar una serie alternativa de 007 pero sólo puedo llevar Nunca digas nunca jamás (Never Say Never Again - Jamais plus jamais, 1983) a la gran pantalla en lucha con Octopussy (1983) . En otro intento, con la Columbia de por medio, se llegó a un juicio que acabó con la cesión, por parte de Columbia, de Casino Royale por los derechos de Spiderman en manos de la Metro.
El acuerdo, del que no han trascendido detalles, ha llegado tras 48 años de conflicto y seguro que no han pagado 1 simbólico euro por la cesión de los derechos.
Es cuestión de tiempo saber si EON recupera a Blofeld y a su gato que simbólicamente lanzaron a una chimenea en Sólo para sus ojos (For Your Eyes Only - Rien que pour vous oeux, 1981).
