In Memoriam Haakon Robert Nielsen más conocido como Barry Nelson (16/04/1917 - 07/04/2007), fue Jimmy Bond, el primer 007 en el episodio de TV Casino Royale de Climax Mistery, emitido el 21/10/1954.
Washington. (EFE).- Barry Nelson (16/04/1917 - 07/04/2007), el primer actor que interpretó el personaje de James Bond, murió en Los Ángeles a los 89 años, informó hoy en Los Ángeles (California) su esposa Nansi.
El deceso ocurrió cuando el actor, que interpretó al personaje de las novelas de Ian Fleming para una versión de televisión de Casino Royale en 1954, viajaba al estado de Pensilvania el sábado pasado.
Nelson fue durante casi toda su carrera un actor de los estudios MGM y entre sus papeles estelares se incluyen los protagonizados en Shadow of the Thin Man, Johnny Eager y Dr. Kildarès Victory.
El actor interrumpió su carrera para servir en el Ejército durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial y volvió al cine de Hollywood para interpretar papeles en una decena de películas, entre ellas Time to Kill y Tenth Avenue.
En sus últimos años de trabajo trabajó de secundario en películas como Airport y The Shining, así como en series de televisión como Murder She Wrote y Dallas. Fue un actor muy convincente y era tan bueno en la comedia como en el drama, manifestó su agente, Francis Delduca.
Nelson se casó dos veces y en ninguna de ellas tuvo hijos.

Washington. (EFE) .- Barry Nelson (16/04/1917 - 07/04/2007), the first actor who played the character of James Bond, died in Los Angeles at age 89, reported today in Los Angeles (California) his Nansi wife.
The death occurred when the actor, who played the character of Ian Fleming's novels for a TV version of Casino Royale in 1954, traveled to Pennsylvania last Saturday.
Nelson was for most of his career an actor of the MGM studios and among his starring roles include starring in the Shadow of the Thin Man, Johnny Eager and Dr. Kildares Victory.
The actor interrupted his career to serve in the Army during World War II and returned to Hollywood to play roles in a dozen films, including Time to Kill and Tenth Avenue.
In his later years he worked secondary work in films like Airport and The Shining, as well as TV shows like Murder She Wrote and Dallas. It was a very convincing actor and was so good at comedy and drama, said his agent, Francis Delduca.
Nelson was married twice and none of them had children.
